The Bazooka Antenna. A Bazooka Antenna plan for 40 meters band. The antenna bazooka is a powerful, high-quality mono-band dipole that is easy to do yourself. At the ends of the coaxial cable, the sheath and the core are welded together and continue with a monopolar cable of copper. A 40 m, the antenna has a bandwidth of about 300 kHz.
About The Double Bazooka Antenna. The Double Bazooka Dipole is a very efficient single band antenna which is very quiet, and does not require the use of a balun. This antenna consists of coax (RG58) or other 50 ohm type with the shield split at the center and the feedline attached to the open ends. Do not break the center conductor.
The Vertical Bazooka is easily tuned by clipping short sections from the end of the exposed center conductor of the antenna. There are, however, some precautions you must observe. This is a dipole, which means it has easily disturbed high impedance nodes at both the tip of the top section and the bottom of the braid.
The fundamental features of a Bazooka Balun are shown in Figure 1. Figure 1. Bazooka or Sleeve Balun. An equivalent diagram of this balun is shown in Figure 2. Figure 2. Equivalent Representation of Sleeve Balun. The green sleeve in Figures 1 and 2 acts as a transmission line, that is short circuited at the end.

Radiowavz Bazooka Antenna Review. About 5 years ago I had been looking to build myself a permanent dipole antenna to use at my home when a friend suggested I should just pick up one of the pre-made Bazooka Dipole antennas from Radiowavz. I looked into it and sure enough the total cost of the antenna was $30 which included shipping and it was ...
The Double Bazooka antenna is popular among amateur radio operators, especially on the 80/75 meter band, because of the larger bandwidth compared to a dipole. The Coax. The best coax for that antenna is a cheap coax. Avoid any coax that has a double shield with a foil wrapping. The foil wrapping will make the construction of the antenna harder.
The Bazooka antenna consists of a half-wavelength of coaxial line with the outer conductor opened at the center and the feedline connected to the open ends. The outside of the coax and the ladder line operate as a half-wave dipole. The inside of the coax elements, which do not radiate, are quarter-wave shorted stubs which present a high ...
The Double Bazooka Antenna – A Review. Here is a review of the 40 and 80 meter band Double Bazooka antennas as used on the HF shortwave bands. This will be of interest to amateur (ham) radio operators and shortwave listeners. This particular antenna comes from IAC antennas ( www.iacantennas.com) where more information can be obtained.
Double Bazooka NVIS Antenna Calculator The measurements below are for building a Double Bazooka Near Vertical Incident Skywave (NVIS) Antenna. The End Wire Size can range from 16 AWG to 12 AWG. The larger the wire, the wider the bandwidth. 300 Ohm Twin Lead with the ends shorted is an option for even greater bandwidth.

A DOUBLE BAZOOKA antenna is an extremely broad-banded Half Wave Antenna that can operate efficiently across an entire Ham band with little change to the SWR. The DOUBLE BAZOOKA antenna design was first conceived as a radar antenna in the early 1940’s for use by the U.S. Government. It was modified for amateur radio use in the 1950’s.
A double bazooka antenna doesn't require the use of a balun. The antenna consists of 50 ohm coaxial cable (such as RG-58) with the shield split at the center and the feedline attached to the open ends. The braided copper shield of the coax is the actual RF radiator, while the center conductor acts as a matching transformer to provide a DC ...

Oct 27, 2008. #2. Booty', First, this antenna isn't a 'Bazooka' in any sense of the common definition of 'Bazooka' antennas. Including that in the name of it is very misleading. It's a simple 1/2 wave vertical dipole. As such, barring a few things this type antenna requires (choke at the bottom end, lots of voltage there and it WILL get into ...
The Double Bazooka antenna from Radiowavz come in two Power options The first is designed to handle 1500w ssb/pep. Made of durable RG6. The second, and more durable version is designed to handle 5kw ssb/pep made of RG11. All Radiowavz bazookas are potted with epoxy to keep it high and dry!

Double-Bazooka Antenna Broad-Band Dipole Using Coaxial Construction BY CHARLES C. W8TV Center support for the antenna and feed line. It is made of two pieces of Lucite bolted together to form a mechan- ical support and protect the joint from the weather. OME years ago the staff at M.I.T. developed a coaxial dipole antenna for use in radar.
It's a kind of 1/4 wave vertical, or perhaps a 1/2 wave dipole. Constructing such an antenna is to roll back the outer braid of coax to expose 1/4 wavelength of the center conductor, the braid being folded back over the braid towards the radio to make the other 1/4 wave of this dipole. The interaction between the two layers of the braid makes a ...
